Well-child visits

Well-child visits are great opportunities to develop a relationship with your pediatrician, allowing your child’s doctor to address health and development issues before they become larger concerns. Typically, children see a doctor:

  • As newborns a few days after hospital discharge
  • At 1 month old
  • At 2 months old
  • At 4 months old
  • At 6 months old
  • At 9 months old
  • At 12 months old
  • At 15 months old
  • At 18 months old
  • At 2 years old
  • At 2 ½ years old
  • Annually starting at age 3

Well-child visits can include:

  • Checks of height and weight
  • Checks of eyes, ears, nose and throat
  • Checks of heart and lung function
  • Hearing or vision screenings
  • Blood or urine testing
  • Immunizations and vaccinations, including a flu shot
  • Discussion of developmental milestones
  • Time to discuss health or developmental concerns

Vaccines

Vaccinations are considered powerful tools that can help keep your child healthy. Our clinic adheres to the American Academy of Pediatrics’ vaccination schedule. Your child’s provider will be happy to discuss any questions or concerns you have about vaccines.

Sick-child visits

We will see you as soon as possible when your child is sick. We reserve same-day and next-day appointments for sick children.

School, camp and sports physicals

Before starting school, attending camp or participating in a sport, your child might need to have a medical form completed by a doctor. Our clinic staff can complete some of these forms during your child’s annual well-child visit. Please bring your forms with you on the day of your visit, as we will not have access to the documents in our office. Sports physicals are often not covered by insurance. If your child’s sports physical is not covered, you will need to pay for that visit in full when it is completed.

Behavioral consultations

If your child is suffering from ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), school difficulties or problems with behavior, we can help. Our providers regularly assess these concerns, work with parents to develop a treatment plan that is right for the child, and then assist in the management of that plan.
